The centre provides education to children from underprivileged backgrounds irrespective of caste, creed, or religion. Substantial proportion of children are from scheduled caste/ tribes from sorrounding neighbourhood. Schooling is provided currently from nursery to year 7 level and is recognised by the Primary Board of Education. Efforts are underway to obtain recognition for Junior High School. All the teaching is provided by voluntary teachers at a nominal honorarium, some of whom have been alumni of the school. About 180 children are enrolled in the school at any given time.
Adult Education and Training
MSS provides training to the destitute and illiterate women in various vocational skills such as stitching, tailoring, and embroidery in order to make them self-reliant and valuable members of the society. The Adult Education Department of of Aligarh MuslimUniversity helps in providing its expertise and guidance to MSS for running the various training programs. About 200 women are trained each year.
Centre provides counselling and help in resolving various family disputes such as dowry, violence etc. Counselling is provided by 2 training family councillors. This activity is aided (to the extent of 80%) by the central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi, with rest of the support provided by MSS itself. Help is also obtained from legal advisors where required.
